Mt. Carmel girls, still unbeaten, open tourney Wednesday
The Mt. Carmel girls basketball team completed a perfect 29-0 regular season over the weekend. Now, they'll put it all on the line in a winner take all post-season.
The Lady Aces beat Eldorado 78-39 on Saturday night behind 38 points from junior Tyra Buss, who has already committed to attend Indiana University. Buss needs three free throws to break the IHSA career record.
Her teammate, Alex Rosignol, is just 25 rebounds way from setting a school record.
Eldorado opened tournament play Monday night with a 51-37 win over Carmi-White County and will face Harrisburg next.
Top seed Mt. Carmel will take on the host team at the McLeansboro Regional Wednesday night at 6 p.m.
