Buss named all-state, leads Big 8 first team | Sports & Recreation

Mount Carmel sophomore Tyra Buss was a unanimous selections for the Associated Press small school All-State team this week.

A nationally regarded recruit, Buss averaged 35 points and five steals for the Golden Aces.  She was named to the first team for Class 2A.  She scored 1,121 points for her sophomore year and her career total is now 2,146.

She reached the 2,000 point total faster than any player in state history.

She has also been named to the girls' Big 8 All-Conference Team this week.  Click 'read more' to see the entire list of all-conference members.
