Funeral services were scheduled Friday for a popular local riverman and restaurant owner. Johnny Farmer passed away suddenly earlier this week. He and his wife Sue Ann, owned the Hard Times Fish Market and the Fish House restaurant, located along the river in Grayville.
"Farmer was one of the last of his breed, earning his living from the river as one of the few remaining commercial fishermen plying the local waters," reported the Navigator-Journal.
Tri-State residents were familiar with the restaurant, which drew crowds from all three states on a weekly basis.
Farmer was 60 and also leaves behind two children and two grandchildren.
Guests at Farmer's funeral were asked to dress "Fish House Appropriate".
