Mt. Carmel fire chief stepping down | News
Title (Max 100 Characters)
Mt. Carmel is looking for a new fire chief. After 30 years with the department, Allan Kidd is retiring effective at the end of this month.
According to our media partner, the Daily Register, Kidd made the announcement Monday during a meeting of the fire department.
City Administrator Rudy Witsman say she was surprised by Kidd’s departure and praised him as a “loyal member” of the department.
Fire Commissioner Rod Rodriguez will recommend a replacement and the full City Council would then have to approve the recommendation.
It’s possible the city could hire a successor before March 31 but if an interim chief is named, that person wouldn’t have to be formally approved by the council.
