Massive fire in Carterville IL | News
More than a dozen fire crews responded to Carterville, IL Monday night after a large fire destroyed a long-time business and threatened other structures.
Our sister station, KFVS says it broke out around 6:20 p.m. Monday at CTE Telco on South Division Street.
The blaze was in the city's historic downtown area and crews worked to keep it from spreading to structures including the city water department and a barber shop next door.
After about four hours of battling the fire, crews ran into low water pressure.
Fire crews said water pressure in the tower was low making it hard to put out the fire. Firefighters from Rend Lake ended up feeding fire crews water so they could battle the fire.
