Fairfield man ejected from Jeep in two-vehicle crash | News

A 27-year-old Fairfield man was hurt Sunday night in a two-vehicle crash on Wayne County Road 1800 East.

Illinois State Police say Heath A. Lyons told them he hit a slick spot and lost control of his Jeep.  It crossed the center line and went into a ditch, throwing Lyons out the rear window. 

The Jeep had come to rest partially on the roadway, blocking the southbound lane of travel and was struck by a car driven by 21-year-old Eric Vaughn of Fairfield. 

Lyons was taken to Fairfield Hospital, then transported to St. Mary's in Evansville.  Vaughn refused treatment at the scene.
