ISP: Medical condition may have caused wreck; trucker dies | News

A 46-year-old southern Illinois man died Tuesday after his tractor-trailer went off the road on Illinois Route 13 near Pool Road in Gallatin County.

Illinois State Police say 46-year-old Thomas Neumann of Cave-in-Rock apparently suffered medical trauma as he was driving and the truck crossed the center line and traveled into a ditch on the opposite side of the roadway.

Other motorists stopped to help and CPR was given by Gallatin County Ambulance Service but he died at Harrisburg Medical Center a short time later.

The Saline County Coroner’s Office will be investigating the cause of Neuman’s death.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash according to ISP.
