Troopers also assisted 80 motorists, conducted 139 Motor Carrier Inspections, and investigated 38 traffic crashes.  There was one fatal traffic crash investigated by District 19 during July, which resulted in one fatality.

During the month, 417 citations and 282 written warnings were issued for “Fatal Four” violations.  These violations are most associated with fatal traffic crashes and include Speeding, DUI, Failure to Wear a Seatbelt, and Distracted Driving.

Troopers hope the public is aware that school will soon be in session.

“Please be careful in and around our schools as there will be an increase of vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic.  Also, be mindful and watchful for school buses and the children who ride them.  Lastly, watch your speed and limit distractions while driving; including not texting and/or talking on your cell phone while driving through school zones.”
