West Salem motorcyclist hits parked pickup; flown to hospital
A West Salem man was flown to an Evansville hospital Tuesday afternoon after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck on Illinois Route 1 North.
According to our media partner, the Mt. Carmel Register, Timothy B. Yates, 66, struck the parked truck at the entrance to Cherry Hill subdivision.
The truck, driven by 76-year-old Charlie L. Acree of Mt. Carmel, was stopped in the northbound lane; Acree was waiting to make a left turn into the subdivision.
Yates was taken to Wabash General Hospital, then air-lifted to Evansville.
There is no word on his condition at this time.
