POSEY CO., IN (WFIE)- Indiana State Police say an Illinois woman was killed Monday morning in a single vehicle accident on I-64. It happened around 9 o'clock at the 8 mile marker, between the Griffin and Poseyville exits.
They say 65-year-old Carolyn Turner of Grayville, IL was heading east on I-64 in a pick-up truck.
Police say their initial investigation revealed a Ford pickup truck was eastbound and had just passed a semi.
The Ford pickup had moved back into the driving lane when it started to drift off the roadway.
Officials say the driver of the pickup overcorrected when she attempted to get her vehicle back onto the roadway and lost control.
Police say the pickup truck left the road on the right and went approximately 200 feet before overturning onto a highway sign. The cab was crushed during the rollover, which caused the fatal injury.
Officials say the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. She was wearing a seat belt.
Authorities say they don't think drugs or alcohol were a cause of the wreck but say that it is an ongoing investigation.
