76-year-old man arrested on sexual assault charges
WABASH CO, IL (WFIE)- Police say an Allendale, Illinois man is arrested for sexually assaulting a minor.
Wayne Welton, 76, is charged with a felony count of predatory criminal sexual assault of a female under the age thirteen.
A judge set bail at a million dollars for him today.
The Wabash County Sheriff's Department tells 14 News they began an investigation after the girl told relatives she'd been assaulted.
Welton remains in the Wabash County Jail pending his next court date later this month.
If convicted Welton faces up to 30 years in prison.
