Owensville woman arrested in connection to minor's abortion
News

OWENSVILLE, IN (WFIE)- Indiana State Police arrested a woman they believe assisted a 15-year-old girl with her abortion.

Kacy L. Heath, 43, was arrested Friday afternoon following an investigation by ISP.

A criminal investigation began after ISP received information that a 15-year-old Gibson County girl had an abortion in Grant City, IL, without the consent of her legal guardians.

During the investigation, police learned the 15-year-old girl became pregnant by 21-year-old Steven King of Owensville, and had an abortion in February.

Further investigation revealed King's mother, Kacy Heath, allegedly paid for the abortion and provided identification for the 15-year-old so she could have the abortion.

Her legal guardians had no knowledge of her pregnancy or the abortion.

King was arrested in April for Sexual Misconduct with the minor in connection to this investigation.  He is currently being held on bond in the Gibson County Jail.

Heath is currently being held in the Gibson County Jail on a $7,000 cash only bond.
