Burn ban in effect for Wabash County | News

A burn ban is in effect for Wabash County.  Mt. Carmel Mayor Bill Hudson and Wabash County Commissioner Charlie Sanders conferred with several local fire chiefs and decided to issue the order on Wednesday.

Despite a small amount of rain Monday, conditions are still dry throughout the area and open burning is prohibited until further notice.

Recreational fires are permitted as long as the fire is in a contained and controlled area and constantly observed by an adult with an immediate water source available to extinguish the fire if necessary.
