Fairfield teen dies in motorcycle accident | News

A 17-year-old Fairfield High School senior died Sunday night after a motorcycle accident.WIFW Radio reports Caleb Richards had been riding at a farm south of the city when his cycle flipped over, throwing him to the ground.

The report states that the teen was taken first to Fairfield Memorial Hospital and later transferred to St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville where he died shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday evening. 

According to the Vanderburgh County Coroner's Office, Richards died of multiple internal injuries caused by blunt force trauma to his chest. 

He was a member of the Fairfield High golf team.  The school cancelled its sporting events Monday and Tuesday.
