Drought, TLC helps supersize pumpkin | Home & Garden
Title (Max 100 Characters)
Like your pumpkins jumbo sized? Meet Carlos, the super gourd grown by Kevin Meek of Lawrence County.
It started as a bet and quickly grew into a community project. Kevin grew it on the prairie behind his house.
He named the pumpkin Carlos and provided updates on Twitter.
He was worried Carlos wouldn’t make it through the drought but daily watering helped him continue his phenomenal growth.
Days leading up to the weigh in, Twitter followers played “guess the weight.”
Today, Carlos tipped the scales at a whopping 444 pounds!
The winner received two quarts of locally grown green beans...and bragging rights.
