Man charged with stealing over $100,000 from church | Crime

An Edwards County man faces theft and forgery charges after authorities say he stole money from an Albion church.
Jason Laws, 44, is being held in the White County Jail on a $300,000 bond.
The state's attorney's office tells 14 News an appellate prosecutor is handling the case. They say Laws faces three felony counts.
One count accuses Laws of taking over $100,000 from the Albion House of Prayer during a period of time that began in 2005. The other two counts are for forgery. Authorities say Laws forged signatures on two checks from a company called QF&S, one for $9,500 and another for $4,500.
Laws is due in court next Tuesday.
