Illinois State Police say two people from Evansville were arrested after a high speed chase through southern Illinois Sunday.

Miranda Renee Richards, 25, was charged with DUI, aggravated fleeing and wanted on a warrant with other charges pending.

Cody Tyler Glenn, 21, was charged with being wanted on a warrant.

ISP stopped a 2001 Mitsubishi in rural Jefferson County on Sunday evening. They say Richards was found to be suspended and wanted on a warrant out of Indiana. The passenger, Glenn, was also wanted on a warrant in Indiana.

When officers tried to arrest them, they say Richards took off. Officers followed them onto Route 148 southbound to Route 14 westbound until they got west of U.S. 51 on Greenmarket Road. ISP says Richards stopped the car as if to surrender and then drove the car into a police car.

Richards and Glenn were arrested and taken to the Perry County Jail.
