The Mt. Carmel Police Department says it recently solved two burglaries and five reports of criminal damage and theft of items from vehicles.

According to the police report filed by Sgt. Mike McWilliams, while on patrol on June 30, he caught a 14-year-old male juvenile breaking into a vehicle in the 200 block of Market Street. The juvenile was brought to the station, charged and released to his parents.

A subsequent investigation conducted by Detective Sergeant Ryan Turner has resulted in solving burglaries to the Little League Concession Stand and Adams Fish Market along with theft from five vehicles which were also damaged.

Anyone having information pertaining to any criminal activities are encouraged to call the Wabash County Crime Stoppers at 618-262-4258. Monetary rewards are paid for information leading to the arrest of individuals responsible for committing crimes.

 In the past month, the Wabash County Crime Stoppers has paid out $200 in reward money with an additional $200 pending in an ongoing investigation. You do not have to give your name when calling Crime Stoppers.
