Handicapped home's caretaker arrested for pot
Crime

A caretaker at the Froman House in Mt. Carmel was arrested on marijuana charges Tuesday night.

Our media partner, the Daily Republican-Register, says a neighbor called Mt. Carmel Police after smelling pot coming from the home, which provides residential support services to developmentally disabled adults, according to its corporate website, Southeastern Residential Alternatives.

Police say the caretaker, 19-year-old Katlyn A. Smitley, had been smoking marijuana on the outside deck and had over ten grams of suspected cannabis, suspected controlled substances and drug paraphernalia with her.

She was taken to the Wabash County Jail.
