First Bank to close Albion branch | Business
First Bank will close its branch and ATM in Albion this summer. On Monday, the bank submitted documentation to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency notifying them of their intent to close the branch effective Friday, July 19, 2013 at 5 p.m. CST.
“A business decision like this is never easy to make,” said Al Fritschle, President and CEO of First Bank, “However, after extensive review, we have determined that closing the Albion branch is a prudent economic decision for our organization.”
All accounts currently maintained at the Albion branch will be automatically transferred to the First Bank branch at 102 S. Court Street in Grayville. No action needs to be taken by First Bank clients unless they would like their account(s) transferred to a branch other than Grayville.
If that is the case, clients can contact Aubrey Seibert or Karen Johnson at (618) 445-2371 or First Bank client services at 800-538-3979.
In addition to the Grayville branch, First Bank clients are also welcome to bank at the branches in Mt. Carmel and Carmi in Illinois, and in Princeton, Poseyville, Mt. Vernon, and Evansville. A full listing of branches, hours and ATM locations can be found at www.firstbank.bz. Clients can also bank anytime, anywhere with First Bank’s NetTeller Online Banking and Mobile & Text Banking.
Clients who have a safe deposit box at the Albion branch will be contacted by First Bank, and should make plans to stop by before July 19.
Aubrey Seibert, current Financial Service Representative at the Albion branch, has accepted the Mortgage Loan Officer position at First Bank’s Mt. Carmel branch. Until the Albion branch closes in July, Aubrey will be splitting her time between our Albion and Mt. Carmel branches. Karen Johnson, current Client Service Representative at Albion, has accepted a similar position at First Bank’s branch in Grayville.
