Tennessee native named to Mt. Carmel economic leadership position | Business

The Mt. Carmel Area Economic Alliance has a new Executive Director and CEO.

Ben Ross, a native of Knoxville, Tenn., will spearhead the economic plan announced last fall.  He’ll relocate to Mt. Carmel and begin his duties October 15.

“The focus from the beginning was to find someone that had a strong background in economic development but also someone we felt would work well with the people in our community,” he said. “While the process took longer than we planned, we feel confident that Ben has the right experience and personality to do this and we are excited to welcome Ben and his wife, Shari to Mt. Carmel.”

Ross was recently the President and CEO of Davidson Vision, Inc., in North Carolina.

Goals of the Alliance including adding 50 jobs per year within five years and to add $200,000 in assessed valuation in years 3-5 of the plan, to increase the average wage each year in years 3-5 and to increase sales tax revenue each year in years 3-5.
