Mt. Carmel is expected to receive a grant for a storm sewer project nearly 15 years in the making.
That's according to our media partner, the Daily Republican Register.
The Greater Wabash Regional Planning Commission says it received more than $360,000 for the city's East 5th Street Improvement Project.
The funding should take care of most of the cost, which is estimated around $476,000.
The money is coming from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity's Community Development Assistance Program.
Officials will meet with engineers soon to get started.
The project should be done within two years.
